Absolutely agree Vic- taking care of your physical self is the foundation. It gives a sense of accomplishment that leads to sense of well being and mastery as you take on other tasks.
The only time I listen to music is when I cook, do the dishes, cleaning and driving. Driving is not the time to be thinking about life. But on the bus? perfect setting. At some point, I look forward to doing the dishes because that is the only time I get to listen to my music, or evaluate music to see if they are good.
As a man who at 58 was over 300lbs and needed a walker to get around. I couldn’t agree more. I needed my hips replaced (but they don’t lie) and started working out. This month marks my 37th consecutive month of 3-5 work outs per week. I am down 60 lbs and feel better now than at 40.
The physical discipline leads to mental and emotional discipline which really ups the quality of life.
I'm in my 60s and agree with losing the mentality of always trying to lift more. It's more about consistency and sustainability when you get older. Trying to lift more and more until you get injured isn't doing you any favors. Gotta say, however, I will not be giving up my moderate partaking in occasional alcoholic beverages anytime soon...😁.
I totally agree. Taking care of your body, your temple, puts you in the right frame of mind. It gives you confidence, allows you to do more, and reminds you that you have control over some aspects of your life and benefit from it when you use it properly.

Abby, I've been genuinely surprised to find that my writing has connected with women as well as men. Welcome!
