But you got married again, Vic. To me, that casts a lot of doubt on the "I'm OK with being alone" statement. It was an unwilling, temporary adaptation.
I can see how you’d think that, Albert, for sure. But there’s a difference between being OK with being alone and wanting to be alone.
I wasn’t out on the hunt for the next woman and it wasn’t unwilling. I knew I could find someone if I wanted to. It was just right time, right place (I think God brought us together, TBH), and she is so great I would have been an idiot to not marry her.
As a friend of mine told me the first time he met her: “I’m going to give you the same advice a good friend gave me when I met your sister: ‘Don’t f*ck this up.’” :)
Love the Bible verse from this article. Letting go of the past is one of the most difficult (and necessary) skills to learn.
It really is. It can be incredibly difficult to truly let go.
Be sure to not hold onto the current state either or you will have to relearn the lesson
Well I’ve already learned what I was missing and I’ve entered this marriage as a different man.
I learned a lot as a single Dad at 32. I wouldn’t trade my time with my kids for the world.
One of my favorites you put together.
I didn’t know where the silverware draw was in my house for years…
Ha, I’m glad you could relate. 😁

A lot of people probably don’t realize how much of their identity is tied to a role until the role disappears.
Men in particular.
Been there - more than once. You’re pretty spot on. Glad you discovered and rediscovered. 👊🏼👍🏼
Thanks. I know I’m not alone. I wrote for guys who think they ARE alone.
